About Casa Rustica
Hotel Casa Rustica was established in 2006 as a budget hotel or hostel with many options, all of them to make your stay, pleasant & comfortable. We also remodeled the hotel in April 2009 & again in March 2011, to make it even better. Ideally located, just 1 block west of the central plaza, about a 1 minute walk. This allows you to be close to the most important sites in town & gives you a short & safe walk back home every night. Everything you need is close by, from restaurants to shopping to museums to historical sites.
Hotel Casa Rustica offers a quaint Cafe, along with a Travel Agency, Internet Cafe & Typical Shop. Our hotel has 14 beautiful & private rooms, all with cable TV. 9 rooms with private baths inside the room & 5 rooms with common baths, just outside the room. Of the 5 rooms with common bath, there are 3 bathrooms to service these rooms. So, no waiting for the bathroom.
We also offer a large room for up to 6 friends or family members with a private bath & cable TV. Most rooms have very nice & spacious hand carved wood closets with lockable draws for your valuables. A few others have beautifully hand carved armours. All rooms have hand carved desk, night stands & hand forged iron lamps. Each room is nicely decorated with typical Guatemala textiles, pictures & bright colors.
You enter Hotel Casa Rustica from the cobblestone street through the grand & beautifully rustic Antigua style wooden doors into the very spacious entry.
In the entrance way, is the typical shop. Just beyond this is the Cafe & internet area.
Here in the Hotel Cafe, we offer great tasting Guatemalan coffee, teas, local and imported beers, sodas, juices & snacks, along with a billards table.
In the same hotel lobby area, is the hotel reception & travel agency area. We offer free Wi-fi / wireless internet throughout the property, including in all the rooms. Also, if you did not bring your laptop, we offer Internet terminals for Q7/hr. The internet is high-speed internet. There is hotel personnel at the property 24hrs per day, every day. We close the large street door at 8pm every night and open it back up at 8am, for your security. During the night, there is a night time watchman that is here to open the street door for any guest coming or going.
Just past this is a very beautiful cobblestone garden with a central fountain & beautiful flowers that fill all corners of the garden. Surrounding this garden are larger flowers, plants & hammocks for lounging and watching the happenings of the day. From this garden, you can go up the spiral staircase to the very large terrace for sunbathing or more lounging.
From this terrace, you have gorgeous views of Volcán de Agua to the south & the beautiful hotel fountain below.
From the other end of the cobblestone garden, you can enter into the common area entertainment room for lounging with a large flat screen cable TV, stereo & games. All common areas are very spacious and filled with light. The hotel common areas are a great place to meet other travelers, and share your travel experiences.
Just past this is the very large common hotel kitchen where you have full use of the kitchen for cooking your own meals. The kitchen is very nicely equipped with a stainless refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, mixer/blender, jucier, bottled water & filtered water, stove top, pots, pans, cutting boards, pasta strainers, plates, bowls, glasses, utensils & anything you would need if you chose to do your own cooking. After the hotel kitchen is the hotel laundry service area, which we offer to all hotel guest.
Up top, in this 1st house, is all guest rooms and a common bathroom. We offer many good books and travel guides, for our guest to use while they are here. You can find them in this book case in the upstairs hall, or in the hotel reception area.
Just beyond this 1st house is a beautiful grass garden with a plam tree, flowering trees & shrubs surounded by other beautiful flowers.
In this hotel garden, there is a beautiful stone table with 4 stone benchs for a very tranquil breakfast or resting place. Also there is an outdoor barbeque for your use at one side of this garden.
Beyond this garden is the 2nd house that has 5 very nice and peaceful rooms, all with private bath & nice window views of the garden. In this house, at the top of the 3rd level staircase, there is an amazing view of Agua volcano & cupulas of Antigua. Also, from our 3rd level terrace, there is amazing views of Agua volcano, Fuego volcano, the famous cross "Cerro de la Cruz" & cupulas of Antigua. Hotel Casa Rustica is a very tranquil hotel in the center of the city.
We have very beautiful iron forged with tile inlay tables and chairs in our gardens and all our terraces. The 3rd level terrace has unobstructed 360 degree views of the areas surrounding Antigua.
